DANG: The District Forest Office, Dang held three smugglers along with 2,000 cubic feet of timber worth Rs. 8 million during the patrol carried out in different parts of the district for three days.
According to Assistant Forest Officer at the District Forest Office, Hari Prasad Gautam, three persons along with a tractor and a motorcycle used to transport timber were brought under control.
Legal action against the arrestees has been taken ahead by putting them behind bars, Gautam added.
Likewise, the forest patrol team confiscated timber of Saal tree worth Rs. 1.2 million last night.
The patrol teams seized 105 cubic feet timber from Hariyali community forest in Baghmare VDC, 100 cubic feet from the house of Shobharam BK of Pawannagar VDC-4 and 100 cubic feet from another house at Deukhuri Kalakante, the assistant forest officer further informed.
Investigation into the case is underway while smuggler Shobharam BK is absconding, according to the District Forest Office.
