KATHMANDU: Three persons have apparently committed suicide by hanging themselves at three different places in the Capital.
Police on Friday said that a woman was found hanging with a nylon rope tied to the ceiling fan in her rented room at Purano Thimi, Bhaktapur.
The deceased has been identified as Dhanamaya Rai (48), wife of Surya Bahadur Rai of Buipa-4 Khotang district.
Police have sent the body to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) for autopsy.
Similarly, a woman identified as Maya Rai Timilsina (26) of Jhyalungtar-4, Dhading district, currently residing at Chaumati, Kathmandu, was found hanging with a shawl in her bathroom at around 7 am today.
In yet another apparent case of suicide, 34-year-old Aswin Dahal of Gatthaghar, who was found dangling with a shawl from a wooden beam in his house at around on Tuesday afternoon, died while undergoing treatment at the hospital on Wednesday.
Dahal was rushed to Nagarik Hospital after his wife and mother found him hanging in their house.
Hospital pronounced him dead at around 3:15 pm the following day.
