BIRATNAGAR: Fifteen leaders of the Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum today quit the mother party and joined the Sadbhawana Party led by Rajendra Mahato.
Similarly, over four dozen political cadres from various parties including former chairman of Madhesi Youth Forum-Nepal (MYF-N) Yogendra Roy Yadav also joined the SP. He had worked as personal secretary of MJF-N Chairman Upendra Yadav.
Javed Ansari, General Secretary of the Tarai Madhes Democratic Muslim Front also joined the Tarai Madhes Democratic Party and Fida Hussain Chairman of the Nepali Congress Parsa Constituency-1 also quit the mother party to join the SP.
On his part, SP Chairman Mahato said the agenda of federalism, inclusion and emancipation of marginal-ised communities were first raised by his party 22 years ago, which had now become a national agenda. “Since our agenda has become the agenda of the nation, we have decided to expand our base,” he added. The SP chairman went no say, when concerns of Madhesi would be raised in hills and Himalayan regions and vice versa, unity among citizens would be strengthened.
