1 killed, 5 hurt in chopper crash

NEPALGUNJ : A Russian flight engineer was killed and five others on board a Manang Air MI 8 helicopter were injured when it crash landed at Rudikhot helipad in Surkhet on Sunday morning.
The helicopter took off from Surkhet airport at around 9.30 am and crashed 40 minutes after take-off. It was carrying two passengers and four crew members.
The deceased has been identified as Russian flight engineer Sergiy, while pilot Captain D Satalov, co-pilot Raju Bhandari, accountant Krishna Chandra Amatya, overseer Bishnu Bahadur Chaudhary and local resident Lok Bahadur were injured.
The injured have been airlifted to Surkhet for primary treatment following which they will be flown to Kathmandu on a Sita Air helicopter.
