Wild tuskers damage houses in Saptari village



SAPTARI: As many as three houses at Barmajhiya-5 in Saptari district were destroyed by wild tuskers on Monday night.

A group of five to six tuskers made it to the village from Koshi Tappu Wild Life Reserve, and terrorised the villagers. The three houses of Bijuli Pundit, and Dil Mohammad Shekh were pulled down by the pachyderms.

Grains and other property kept in the houses were also destroyed.

It is estimated that property worth Rs 150,000 rupees was destroyed, said police.

The locals and police drove away the tuskers.
