Settlements inundated in Kailali

DHANGADHI: Floods triggered by incessant rainfall since Saturday night has inundated around 150 houses in Mohanapur, Thingharuwa, Katanpur area of Thapapur VDC in Kailali district.
Some of the houses were inundated with up to two feet high flood water damaging daily commodities stored in the houses, according to police.
A team led by Padma Bista, police inspector at the Area Police Office, Bhajani, has been deployed for the rescue of the flood victims.
According to District Police Office, no human casualty has been reported so far in the floods.
Similarly, majority of the settlements and roads in Hasanpur, Baiyabehadi, Bishalnagar and others in Dhangadhi municipal area have been inundated.
Some schools remained closed on Sunday after roads were inundated and vehicular movement affected.
