PYUTHAN: The Friday rainfall coupled with hailstones wreaked havoc in Okharkot of Pyuthan district.
Padam KC, a local resident, said a torrent for two hours swept away around 100 hectares of land and as many as 10 drinking water projects in the area.
Now, locals are reeling under crisis of drinking water and are forced to use dirty water, KC said.
Vegetable cultivation and crops were also damaged.
However, no human casualty has been reported yet.
As the rainfall triggered landslides along the roads, vehicular movement has been affected in 11 VDCs, including Badhikot, Narikot, Khung, Arkha, Rajwara, Punja and Liwang, in the district.
