BHADRAPUR: General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, has said that the Nepali Congress would join the government if the parties forged the national consensus.

Addressing a district level cadres' gathering at Birtamod of Jhapa on Sunday, general secretary Sitaula claimed that the Nepali Congress's aim was to abolish monarchy, bring Maoists to peace process and write democratic constitution by the people's representatives.

He made it clear that the Nepali Congress was not against federalism.

Good utterance by Sitaulaji but what about his NC cooligues?? He has to take everybody into confidence-is it possible? gaunle, xxx

Sitaula needs to understand that the monarchy is already abolished. Apparently, he hasn't heard the news. Maoist run the government -- it is the NC that must sue for peace. The CA has been dismissed, new elections next November. Try to keep up with the news Sitaula, stay in touch. I wouldn't go near a party with a leader who is so far from reality... I have stopped believing utterances of our leaders! If he says this now why did he withdraw himself when he had joined the govt? Similarly sh Ishor Pokhrel of CPN UML ! Who prompted them to do all these activities? I still am trying to understand the meaning of 'CONSENSUS" govt ! Can NC and CPN UML completely neglect Maoists and have a free run? Why are they asking for the moon? Points to ponder!! gaunle, xxx
