KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) central member Dr Ram Sharan Mahat has accused the Unified CPN-Maoist of involving in a game plan to bring down the incumbent government.
Inaugurating the seventh general convention of the Nepal Financial Organization Employees' Association here on Thursday, leader Dr Mahat said, 'UCPN-Maoist Chairperson is engaged in a campaign to topple the current government in the pretext of failing to hold elections by June'.
Putting pressure on the government to declare polls date to hold elections on third week of June and hatching conspiracy to topple the government citing its failure to hold election reflects something wrong with Maoist's actions, he added.
Former Finance Minister Dr Mahat went on saying that the UCPN-Maoist, which had proposed the Chief Justice-led election government, has demonstrated their double standard by warning to launch agitation against the government.
NC central member Rajan Panta said that a new constitution would be drafted only with the NC reeicing majority in the election.
Association Chairperson Ganesh Bahadur KC informed that the Association has so far expanded its base in 22 financial organizations from four in the inception.
The general convention to be lasted on coming Friday will choose a new leadership and approve new programmes.
