BHAKTAPUR: The Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE), Sanothimi, Friday evening published the results of the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exams for the academic session 2066 BS.
Under the regular category, a total of 2,47,689 students passed the exam, with pass percentage standing at 64.31, the OCE said. Of the pass outs, 1, 38,716 are boys while the remaining 1, 08,973 are girls.
Of those passing the exams, 16,859 achieved distinction, while 93,339 passed in the first division; 1, 28,028 in second division and the rest 9,416 in third division.
This year’s pass percentage is four percent less than that of last year, which stood at 68.67 per cent. In all, 4,56,719 students had appeared in the exam, which was conducted in March this year.
Among the pass outs, 17,000 examinees made it through with grace marks. Also 427,051students, failing in only two subjects, have been eligible for the chance exam, scheduled for Shrawan 30-Bhadra 6 next month.
Likewise, under the exempted category, 12,227 students passed the exam with a pass percentage of 29.18. Combining both the categories, 2, 59,916 students made it through this year exam.
2,248 results under the regular and 731 under the exempted category have been withheld this year.

The results with marksheets could be accessed on The Himalayan Times' THT Live.
The results, along with the marks obtained, can be viewed on the OCE's www.soce.gov.np and Nepal Telecom's www.ntc.net.np, among other websites, by entering the student's symbol number and the date of birth.
The success or failure in the exams can be known by entering the symbol number on Ministry of Education's www.moe.gov.np and Department of Education's www.doe.gov.np also.
On mobile phone, the results could be instantly accessed by sending an SMS to 2722 (THT Live) following the step as follows: Type SLC<Space> Symbol Number, and send it to 2722
The SMS services for the results on other number are also available: 1600 (Nepal Telecom) and 1215 (UTL).
The results will be published in Saturday’s edition of The Himalayan Times English daily.
Chance exams from mid-August
Meanwhile, the OCE said that it will conduct the chance exams for the students who failed in only two subjects. The exams are scheduled from August 15 to 22.
