2012-04-25 “Conservation is an important issue. Different activities are taking place on conservation of nature and it’s awareness,” shared Subarna Chhetri, Advisor of The Hidden Treasure adding that “celebrity status can help motivate people to work for the conservation of nature”. So, the sixteen contestants of Miss Nepal visited WWF where they were briefed on WWF and its activities on conservation while Malina Joshi, Miss Nepal 2011 and WWF’s Young Conservation Ambassador 2011 shared her experience on ambassadorship. Miss Nepal 2012 will be the next WWF’ Young Conservation Ambassador, another reason why a visit was organised. As per Simrika Sharma, Communications Officer of WWF Nepal “The winner is a celebrity who can make an appeal to the youth, their generation on conservation. They can spread the message on the education of conservation.” Moreover, the contestants of Miss Nepal visit WWF, “one of the contestants will be participating in Miss Earth which is all about conservation” informed Chhetri. He also added, “The contestants need to be prepared for it.” Miss Nepal 2012 will be held at Hotel de l’Annapurna on May 6.Annapurna Post is the official media partner and THT Live is the voting partner.
