2012-04-18 With that line of thought, Malla on April 18 gave her talk on women empowerment at the International Club, Sanepa to 16 contestants out of 17 who are preparing for the crown of Pashupati Paints Luxuria The Hidden Treasure Miss Nepal 2012. Malla shared different aspects of women empowerment as well as provided her insights on women’s rights and expression. In the changing world where culture is also changing, the choices of women should also be respected was one of the messages that she wanted to deliver. She also shared her thoughts, and reality on women’s challenges, violence — traditional and modern, expression, choices, and commodification among others. Achievement, opportunities and mind set of modern women were the other subjects she talked. The contestants, apart from just listening to her, also shared their opinions. They also put up questions on reservation for women in different sectors among others to Malla. Malla is of opinion that the young women of Miss Nepal are representing their culture, ethnicity and country through their participation. “Many are building confidence and leadership in the competition which is important for women empowerment,” she added.
