SALLERI: Police have estimated that Sunday’s earthquake destroyed property worth over Rs 85 million in Solukhumbu district alone. The District Police Office data revealed that property to the tune of Rs 60 million was damaged when houses crumbled.
Thirty-two houses were completely destroyed in the tremor while 86 houses were partially damaged. More than 60 people have been displaced.
The data shows 47, 34, 17 and 11 houses were damaged in Namche, Khumjung, Chaurikharka and Jhuving, respectively. The District Police Office and Namche Area Police Office were also damaged in the magnitude-6.8 temblor.
