Dharmaraj Niraula was elected from Sunsari 2 on CPN-UML ticket.
Born in Salyan Keureni VDC-2, Solukhumbu district, Niraula is living in Bhadgaun Sinuwari VDC-2, Sunsari district.
He has studied up to the proficiency certificate level. He joined politics in 1971. Three years later, he joined the Puspa Lal-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN-P). Niraula, who was a member of the Sunsari district committee of the outfit in 1977, became its permanent member in 1981. In 1982, he became deputy secretary of the Sunsari chapter of the group. The CPN-P and CPN-Manmohan Group merged in 1986, giving birth to the CPN-Marxist (CPN-M). The year 1990 saw him becoming deputy secretary of the CPN-M and Koshi zonal member of the outfit.
Niraula worked as Sunari district committee member of the CPN-UML from 1990 to 1993. He has been working as district secretary of the CPN-UML since 1997. Nirauala has been lauded for his organisational skills. |

Mohamed Inteyak Rai was elected from Banke 2 on MJF ticket.
Born in Sai village-5 of Banke district in 1979, Rai joined the Rastriya Prajatantra Party in 1996. Rai, who identifies himself as a "businessman moved by exploitation of the Madhesis", joined the Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (MJF) in 2006.
He was active during the Madhes agitation. "My victory is the victory of the people. I will always fight for the Madhesi people,"Rai said. One Madhes one Pradesh and Madhes autonomy are the main agendas of his party, Rai said, adding that he will not take rest till the rights of the Madhesi people are secured.

Suryaman Tamang was elected from Taplejung 1 on Nepali Congress seat.
Tamang, 65, of Phuling-6, Taplejung, got into active politics in 1958. Tamang has obtained Bachelor"s degree. He went underground after late king Mahendra enforce the Panchyati rule on Poush 1, 1961. This veteran democratic fighter was involved in capturing companies of the army in course of democratic struggle. Tamang went into exile in Darjeeling for nine years. He was imprisoned for five years in Nepal.

Maoist candidate Vishwadeep Lingden won from Jhapa-7, defeating UML heavyweight and former deputy prime minister KP Sharma Oli.
Lingden is a permanent resident of Kakarvitta, Jhapa.
This graduate began his political career in 1989 as a district member of a pro-UML youth organisation. Later, he became regional secretary of the party. In 1998, he became an active member of the CPN-Maoist.
A year later, Lingden became a full-time member of the CPN-Maoist. In 2001, Lingden, a Maoist area secretary, was arrested and jailed for three years. Aside from being a Maoist district secretariat member, Lingden is also a central member of the Limbuwan Rastriya Mukti Morcha. |
