Election is a process to choose a person who stands as a constituent assembly candidate. It is like a gamble, if a person or political party that is voted wins it gives happiness just when the stake is on your hand. However, it is said by the people who is involved in politics that is is an addiction. There are many who have been disqualified from candidacy. Might be this is a real gambling for them. For every Nepalese citizens this Election is surely a gamble because Nepalese have been living life establishing their own unity, security, and labored hard for food. In a peace rally I have heard from the member of Nepal's business circle that we don't need politician. When I thought why? Obviously there are unseen and unheard threats they are living in and we have heard many abductions and asking for huge ransom. And, there had been many killings of business as well as citizens in Nepal. Now, the security is doing much better. It is hopeful that somewhat Election provides a positive image to the world. There was a long time war, everyone was in threat of life because everyone was dying both from Maoist side, citizens were killed in doubt of being or supporting Maoist by the state, police, army ad their family were also killed. After war, we have been in one more war for the writing of Constituent in constituent assembly. Now, I think this Election had ended one war. But, never know Nepalese citizens has to face other war. “Seven Deadly Sins Wealth without work Pleasure without conscience Science without humanity Knowledge without character Politics without principle Commerce without morality Worship without sacrifice.” ― Mahatma Gandhi

Nepal goes to poll on November 19 to elect constitution assembly for the second time. The first constitution assembly was elected in 2008 which was dissolved in 2012 after failing to reach consensus on the roadmap to federalism. Nepal is a multi-ethnic country with rich culture and history. The Maoists who came to power after a decade long civil war had managed to convince all the stakeholders to scrap the institution of monarchy, which has been a symbol of unity and has been accredited for founding the present day Nepal. In addition, the mainstream political parties namely, namely Nepali Congress and United Marxist Leninist (UML) have reservation on the nature of federalism. The Maoists had come to power with the promise of ethnic-based federalism, for which both Nepali Congress and UML are opposed. Now an alternative voice has emerged in Nepal’s politics. Rastriya Prajatantra Nepal (RPP Nepal) has taken up the slogan of Hindu Nepal with constitutional role for the monarchy. RPP Nepal is demanding referendum on three key issues: Nepal as Hindu State, Symbolic role for the institution of monarchy and nature of federalism. These are not non-issues in Nepal. There is growing support to the agenda of RPP Nepal cutting across the party lines. Even the Biaidya led Maoists are willing to open dialogue with RPP Nepal on the issue of nationalism. This faction has been demanding a round table conference of all the stakeholders (perhaps including the king) and is opposed to the idea of second constituent assembly without resolving the key issues. The international community is supporting the election with a hope of ending the stalemate by a majority elected constituent assembly. That is also the hope of common Nepalese who are daring threat of the opposing groups to exercise their power through ballots. Unless there is a clear-cut majority of like-minded parties the elected constitution assembly is unlikely to deliver a constitution. And there is a need to put lid on the issues raised by RPP Nepal through referendums. There is a chance for the extreme leftists and rightists coming together to fight for the common cause. It will be unfortunate if Nepal is pushed again into civil war which could be easily avoided by the enlightened political leadership and active engagement of the international community.

With just few days remaining for the arrival of historical CA election it is seen different events are undergoing through out the country. Anti polls activities are also tremendously increasing creating a sort of fear in the public. Public are in dilemma whether to cast vote or not. But what we have to think is that , this is the last that nepalese people are getting to draft a new constitution that includes the rights of every nepalese people. So every voters should utilize their precious votes for the right candidate whom do you think is the best for your constituency. First think about the candidate and then party though both have crucial role in drafting process and nation building. Lastly your one vote may be important one to select the right candidate for your region. So participate in election.

First of all I find the election not mananged. I see, being Nepal a poor country many nepalese brothers, sisters and almost every person suffering from it. i think to make election proper first of all every awared and educated people should take other uncapable people hand by hand supporting them to choose right candidate. government should recruit civil people not involved in politics. i notice in my own district that many candidate seem to be active during election but not when they are required. so i hope every nepali citizen will be capable to choose the person that they think might be capable to draft a new constitution that will quence the thirst of all nepali citizen. i hope each and every leaders to respect citizen and finally our motherland Nepal. so my best wishes are with every nepali citizen. And I request all leaders to think twice that they will NEPAL. thank you

Can this election truly give what the country men needs today?.....social security, safe drinking water, quality affordable education, genuine health care, secured electricity, employment etc are the need of the hour. Does our political leaders have any concrete scheme to actually work it out in their 5 years ruling tenure??? or are we still again to be left in the cold STONE AGE for next 5 more years.

Injustice in Nepal must be stopped yesterday. it is bittersweet that the entire maobadis movement surged out of injustice towards dalits and women, now they destroy what little is left of the Republic. No one can look at the destruction of our work, teachers, journalists many good hearted intellectuals helped promote harmony and peace yet there seems to be a total anarchy and lack of guidance. I am the last person on earth to call for arms and justice, but Nepals exodus is too large, the dead bodies from Saouidi are the very dalits blabla leaders claimed to save. Bull. i do not have any hopes for any elections, yes must vote, mainly give women the lead. Sujata was good. Patience but not like this! Bandha means holiday and no work that is not what you need….

In the last CA, we had parties less than 20 and there was division over opinions regarding issues of the to-be-drafted constitution. Now, there are exactly 127 parties contesting in the CA Election 2070. Today, there is certainly more and more disunity in opinions. How can we expect that this CA will give us a constitution? Dear disqualified leaders, stop giving us false promises and making us dream a dream which would always be a dream.

CA election 2013 is nothing but a ladder for some political leaders to hold the higher post in the government in reality but they are playing a drama to assure the common people that they are really committed to write constitution and clear the political deadlock .How can one believe in their words when they were given four years time to draft the new constitution by the people in the past?

What does Elections actually mean -"Need OR Greed?" As the days for Elections are heading nearer People are becoming more and more curious for their country's future. But the question is "Are the Political parties actually eager for our constitution"? As the present scenario of our country indicates the features of an underdeveloped country with no rules and regulation as such that Guarantees the development of our country in the coming days .Our country has got many constitutions in the past. The first rules and regulations for the country were written by the Ranas. Time and again such rules and regulations were implemented in the country sometimes by His majesty the king of Nepal and sometimes as a compromise between the king and the political parties. But none of them was truly accepted by the citizens. Because these were not actually the rules and regulation acceptable by the citizens of our country. They were written as a compromise between two parties to settle their dispute. At this critical moment, Political parties in Nepal are much worried for the Elections to be held at the earliest but do they actually want this election for country's wellbeing or their personal need and greed. Do they really want power of the Nation or power at the individual level to rule the country according to their wish? But not only are the political parties to be blamed. We the public are equally responsible for our country's present situation. We have started seeing election as a way to earn profits from different parties. We have lost our dignity because our instant greed is defeating our need on a large scale. We decide to give vote to those who offers us a bike or bribe us during elections. But we never think how long that amount of money will last or how long we will actually be able to enjoy that bike ride? We never think of future. We never know what may happen in the future. They can bribe us with a bike but can they ensure the availability of petrol in the upcoming days. The developing and developed countries have found out many alternatives for the scarcity of petroleum in the near future. But we the people of Nepal are still happy with our stylish motorbikes. Political parties promises of a better future to us and we trust them blindly without using our own common sense. We are still not able to differentiate between Right and Wrong. If this remain the situation we ourselves will be responsible for our country's devastating future. It's high time now that we need to decide what we actually want from the government – our personal luxury or a bright future. What is our actual demand our comfort or our country bright future. The youngsters need to demand for a secured future and a job guarantee not for a R15 or Bullet bike on which they can ride. Ifwe are guaranteed a good job we can fulfill all our needs on our own. We are still unaware about the truth behind the promises we receive every year during elections which breaks immediately after the party comes in power. It's our right and our moral duty to make our country one of the most developed country of the world. So this time let us not just hope for a fair election, try to be the reason of a fair election. This time the situation of our country is of Do or dies. The consistent failure of the members of constituent assembly to prepare a constitution will soon become a reason for Nepalese failure in the world. Our country and we the people of Nepal are losing our dignity in our greed. We are the future of Nepal and today onwards lets be united for a Change we want to see in our country. Jay Nepal.

Despite all the controversy that we have been hearing for more than a month, I think pressure of political leaders of major parties will make this successful. In my opinion, although it will be conducted as last time but the goal of this election will not met and the time for poverty and unemployment will be rising day by day. SO, It is better to keep track of all the politician who are going to take part in election and make a right choice. Our Nepal will have a better future

Few weeks ago, a minister offered a relative of mine, who works as a shopkeeper, to stand for election. He rejected it, but isn't it shocking? Are this type of people making the constitution in Nepal? We need experts, we don't need 601, perhaps 10 are enough but we need a constitution with progressive aims because it's what we are going to follow and it's what touches our lives, directly or indirectly.

Election indeed is a question of national interest for all but the syndicate of the four parties is wrong and should be challenged. In any democratic system election means the voice of public. Their aspiration and hopes are related with the formation of new government and political parties. But here in Nepal it is very obvious that election in coming Mangshir is not agreed upon by all. The Baidhaya party Plus 33 parties want to extend the election for 4 months, I don't see no harm. Apart from that this election will just turn out to be nothing than a mockery of the democratic system of Nepal, if affective measures are not taken. My question to all is how this election would be successful when more than 33 parties are out of league? Does the Nepali government have enough money to hold re-election? It is just the pressure of the India counterpart that wants to establish their rule here in Nepal as we all know the Indian election are approaching in India and there are chances that BJP Narendra Modi is a strong contender for the next Prime Minister’s position of India so the Congress party of India wants to establish their elected and supported government here in Nepal as they know if BJP party of India wins the election then there are huge chances that Monarchy might return here in Nepal.. I think election is the right of Nepali people so the people of Nepal should be given the right to choose their representation or not for any political manipulation or political game

I think there will be no election in November. The question we should ask now is whether there will be an election next May. Will KRR government continue or will it make way for a government with direct or covert military involvement. In the second case, Dr. Bhattarai's dearest dream may see fruition in the form of an government under his leadership, unchallenged by the opposition or a civil society weakened by a combination of the handy CIAA, court, and the army.

The upcoming elections will represent a chance for a new start--perhaps an awakening. It seems that all of us stumbled through the last elections only half-aware of the importance of our votes, and then felt we had the right to grumble as our beloved country plunged into a decade of chaos and ineptitude as the result of our poor choices. We cannot afford to take such a casual approach again and perhaps now Nepalis are beginning to see how elections affect their lives and the dangers of remaining disengaged from the political process. Elections matter and each of us must make every effort to cast the most informed vote possible. It is one of the few duties we have to each other and to Nepal. Let's get it right this time.

Constitution First then election for 240 memebers representative. If the four major party leaders could not agree on the system of governance (directly elected president or parliament elected prime minister and president) on the first CA there is no guarantee that they will agree this in the second CA. These leaders should agree on the system of governance and publish the draft constitution before the election. Newly elected representatives will have a chance to modify and ratify.

As a first time voter, I am pretty much excited and confused about the upcoming CA election. Excited because I am voting for the first time and my single vote would elect someone who would one day draw the future of Nepal.. As a citizen and a voter of the country, this certainly is a proud moment for me. But along with this pride and excitement also is the confusion. Confusion about whom to pass the baton that would one day portray the dreams I carry about this country, confusion about the possibility of the election taking place and confusion whether if I should really participate in this election. But there is no alternative to this election as delaying the process would just push the country towards the darkness.

Are you sure the election will be held on November 19? I am not convinced yet. For me, the election seems to be an obligation for the myopic parties to "break the deadlock" that they have created. Since the law of the land would be written, the election is important. The sooner the better. But if you ask me local election too should be held asap.

Why do we need 601 to make constitution? The last CA proved that crowd cannot draft constitution. A team of experts should prepare it and the House should discuss and take it to the people for endorsement. First elect a small legislative. CA election is futile.
